Definitely for worse, I’m afraid. Usually their power does eventually get challenged. But I think it’s about progressives in philanthropy moving beyond critique of systems, to structures. There is a good reason the subject always changes to application forms or ‘nicer billionaires’ whenever you raise it…. 😆
For better or worse, PR has driven billionaires to philanthropy historically. What gets interesting is what they do with that public light.
